Top 5 Tools Apps Performance in Africa, Q3 2024

During the third quarter of 2024, the top tools apps in Africa exhibited varied performance metrics across downloads, revenue, and active users. The data, sourced from Sensor Tower, provides a comprehensive view of their standing on a unified platform.

All Video Downloader & Player saw its weekly downloads peaking at approximately 598K in early August, followed by a gradual decline, closing the quarter at about 456K. Meanwhile, weekly active users steadily climbed from 2.5M in early July to over 3.2M by the end of September.

Xender - Share Music Transfer maintained a consistent download pattern, with a high of roughly 501K downloads in mid-August, before tapering to around 315K by late September. Active user numbers showed slight fluctuations, starting at 1.8M and ending the quarter at 1.9M.

SHAREit: Transfer, Share Files experienced stable download figures, with numbers hovering between 510K and 590K throughout the quarter. Weekly revenue remained modest, peaking at $1K in late July, while active users slightly decreased from 15.3M to 14.9M.

AADL3 encountered a sharp decline in downloads, starting the quarter at 2.2M and dropping to just over 1.7K by the end of September. Active users followed a similar trend, decreasing from 2M to approximately 80K.

TickTock-TikTok Live Wallpaper showed a robust increase in downloads, from 226K in early July to 333K by the end of September. Active user numbers mirrored this growth, rising from 948K to over 1.2M.
